The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is a community fundraising and awareness event dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients, survivors, research, education, and advocacy efforts. Participants of all ages come together to walk or run in honor of those impacted by breast cancer while promoting hope, early detection, and the fight to end the disease. The event also celebrates survivors and remembers loved ones lost to breast cancer through moments of recognition and unity.
The chapter will proudly support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure by actively engaging participants and survivors throughout the event experience. Sorors will host the Mission Area, where attendees can learn more about breast cancer awareness, support services, advocacy efforts, and the impact of community involvement. The chapter will also energize participants by operating a Cheer Station along the race route, offering encouragement, music, signs, and motivation to walkers and runners. In addition, sorors will assist with the Pathway to Hope, creating a meaningful and supportive space that honors survivors, remembers loved ones, and uplifts individuals currently battling breast cancer with messages of hope, strength, and compassion.
