For many years, organizations throughout Metro Detroit have participated in the annual Labor Day March in support of working families, our communities, and the continued pursuit of justice, equity, and civic engagement. This year's theme is especially fitting as we prepare for a robust election season:
"Michigan Labor: Valiant Champions for Voting Rights • Vigilant Defenders of Democracy • The Voice for All Working People."
This march provides an opportunity for us to stand together in support of our communities while strengthening the partnerships that unite our organizations in service and advocacy.
Staging will begin at 8:00 am, and the parade will commence at 9:00 am at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull.
Please plan to meet at the Beulah T. Whitby Foundation Building (previously Alpha Kappa Alpha Foundation of Detroit) parking lot by 8:15 am, located at 1525 Howard Street, Detroit, MI 48226.
This annual event is not only a tradition, but a powerful demonstration of unity and support for our labor movement and working families.
Thank you, and we look forward to your support in making our presence felt at this year’s parade!
